Ivideon, Oco look to carve out their own piece of the U.S. video surveillance pie
LAS VEGAS - Despite the fact that the security industry is currently in a period of increased consolidation across most product segments and video surveillance, in particular, the market certainly isn’t lacking when it comes to fresh blood. Ivideon and Oco, which are exhibiting together at this year’s ISC West show in Las Vegas, are both relatively new to the U.S. video surveillance market but each has a proven track record when it comes to developing innovative solutions.
Ivideon, which to this point has only had a presence in Europe and Asia, is a provider of cloud surveillance systems. The company’s enterprise-level cloud surveillance software comes pre-installed on cameras from some of the industry’s biggest names, including Hikvision, Dahua and Axis. The software provides a complete platform for video streaming, recording and storage.
Oco, which launched a line of cameras for the residential market about a year ago, is entering the commercial video market for the first time at ISC West with the launch of a new line of professional-grade cameras. The company’s new professional cameras also come embedded with Ivideon’s cloud surveillance software and also feature self-learning motion and noise detection along with infrared night vision.
Vladimir Eremeev, CEO and co-founder of Ivideon, said he first got the idea to combine Internet services and professional video monitoring into SaaS solution after working on several large Internet projects. Based upon their success in Europe and after talking with several companies in the American video market, Eremeev said they decided to take the plunge and launch their Partner Program in the U.S. at ISC West this year.
The Ivideon Partner Program enables distributors to earn residual income of 15 percent on every active monthly cloud service plan sold by their installers. For their part, installers, depending on volume of sales, can earn residual income ranging from 20 percent to 35 percent of monthly cloud service plans sold through new camera sales or by upgrading to Ivideon cloud service on existing cameras.
“It’s a very good product for companies like Starbucks,” explained Eremeev. “They only need to install a few cameras at each location, but they have a lot of locations that they have to combine into one system. We provide customers the ability to not have to spend a lot of money on their own infrastructure.”
According to Philipp Ryzhkov, CEO of Oco Group, North American Division, the company decided to develop a line a professional cameras after getting numerous requests from distributors and installers, who wanted to be able to offer Oco cameras to their commercial clients.
“They were visiting our website and calling us directly to have similar solutions for the professional market and, in close cooperation with Ivideon, we made this happen and we’re now ready to introduce our pro line,” said Ryzhkov. “We see huge potential in this market and a real opportunity for success.”
Because of their integration with Ivideon, Ryzhkov said those who opt to deploy their cameras will not have to install any additional hardware or software on-site. “All you have to do is buy the camera and select a service plan from the website,” added Ryzhkov. “It’s really full-feature, so you can view live video remotely wherever you are.”
Aside from the tremendous savings that Oco’s cameras can provide users with in the way of reduced infrastructure costs, Ryzhkov said the quality of service they provide in conjunction with Ivideon really sets them apart in the market.
“If you look at the Ivideon app, you can see about 1 million downloads, 50,000 reviews and a 4.5 out of 5 rating. It’s a very mature solution,” said Ryzhkov.
Eremeev added that there’s no need for special router or firewall settings because the Ivideon software onboard the cameras initiates the connection to their cloud service. If a customer already has cameras, but would like to add Ivideon’s cloud service, Eremeev said they can also accommodate them by adding a small piece of hardware that will connect them with the cloud.
And having already been established in overseas markets, Eremeev said American customers who opt to deploy Ivideon will be getting a solution that’s ready to hit the ground running. “The advantage of Ivideon is that we already have users and we already have good feedback from them,” said Eremeev.
