MicroTek Electronics and KBC Networks have merged, according to a press release issued by the companies on Monday.

Both companies will operate under the KBC Networks brand and will offer both fiber optic and wireless transmission products.

In a prepared statement, KBC President Steve Kuntz said that the move would allow the companies to expand their customer bases. MicroTek President David Thomson added that the deal would help them introduce MicroTek products to new markets.

As part of merger deal, the KBC Networks U.S headquarters will move to MicroTek’s base of operations in Lake Forest, Calif. Kuntz will remain head of the company, while Thomson will now oversee global manufacturing operations.
