Matrix Systems is pleased to announce the new APERTAtm IP Device Controller will be competing in the SIA New Product Showcase at ISC West.
APERTAtm, meaning “Open” in Italian, is the next evolution of the already robust Matrix hardware. This new device was conceived with the future in mind – the Internet of Things (IoT), redundancy, high availability all built on the Linux platform. Designed with dual ethernet connections, USB and HDMI connections, eSATA ports, standard power input or PoE+ support. In addition, the device has native support for the Open Supervised Device Protocol (OSDP).
The APERTAtm IP Device Controller will become the foundation of the Matrix hardware architecture, eventually replacing our current Reader Control Module (RCM). In time, the device will grow beyond just Access Control. Lighting control, HVAC management, and messaging through public view monitors are just a few of the possibilities with this new controller. The most exciting part of all are what this device can become as other technologies are incorporated.
For existing Matrix customers, APERTAtm is completely backwards compatible with your current system. However, it is a much more powerful and functional controller than the RCM1 and RCM2 having even greater offline intelligence, virtually unlimited card formats, and distributed processing.
