WESTFORD, MA. March 17, 2015–– Software House, part of the Security Products business unit of Tyco, the world’s largest pure-play fire protection and security company, introduces the latest release of its C•CURE 9000 security and event management solution which includes visitor management functionality, area pass-through, and building automation monitoring capabilities along with numerous other product additions and enhancements.
The addition of visitor management to the C•CURE 9000 platform enables users to manage appointments and create temporary credentials, providing a digital replacement for paper-based visitor logbooks. Using C•CURE 9000, front office staff can create, manage, and archive appointments, and individual and group check-in and visitor arrival email notifications. This licensed feature also enables organizations to maintain and audit visitor information across their enterprise. In addition to providing an audit trail for the temporary credentials, the system includes safeguards so an employee’s regular credential and temporary card can’t be used simultaneously.
“Many organizations are seeing an increased need to manage visitor and employee movement beyond the paper logbook, but don’t require a separate third-party visitor management solution,” said George Martinez, Senior Product Manager, Tyco Security Products. “C•CURE 9000’s visitor management capabilities addresses this need.”
By deploying C•CURE 9000’s area pass-through feature, users can restrict the length of time a person can linger in a designated area before triggering a violation in the system which can be useful for compliance or liability issues in addition to security. The licensed carpool anti-passback feature tackles parking lot management by identifying designated carpool groups and permitting only bona fide groups within the carpool area. The system works using the driver’s credential, which will identify all the individuals within the carpool.
As security and building management continue to intertwine, C•CURE 9000 helps bring together standard building management systems through a licensed BACnet interface. By deploying an auto-discovery feature, C•CURE 9000 can seek out and identify sensors related to HVAC systems; lighting, flow and fluid control; temperature and other environmental management input and outputs, and bring them into C•CURE 9000 for supervisory monitoring for a comprehensive overview of building and security functions.
