On the Scene at GSX: ASSA ABLOY creates access for the future
Featuring the theme of “Creating Access for the Future,” ASSA ABLOY shines a spotlight on facility security at GSX 2022.
“The tragedy in Uvalde, Texas, last spring once again directed full attention on facility security and what schools, healthcare, government and corporate facilities need to do to protect their occupants, and rightfully so,” says Angelo Faenza, head of digital access solutions, ASSA ABLOY Opening Solutions Americas. “We can’t control the issue of gun violence or emergency responsiveness. However, we can help facility owners better prepare.
“We challenge ourselves every day to answer the question, ‘how can we make access control even safer, more intelligent, easy to use, functional and aesthetically pleasing?’” adds Faenza. “Ultimately, it’s about occupant peace of mind, so they can focus on working, learning and healing.”
In Booth No. 2443, ASSA ABLOY will feature its comprehensive line of door security solutions, from doors and mechanical and electromechanical products to access control components, and its entire family of wired and wireless intelligent opening solutions.
ASSA ABLOY also will show two of its latest product advancements:
Norton Rixson 6200 Series Low Energy Operator
The 6200 Series low-energy swing-door operator from ASSA ABLOY Group brand Norton Rixson features an economical price and is engineered with a slim profile to blend in easily with the door frame and provide architectural appeal. The modular design streamlines installation, which makes this operator suited for retrofit work and challenging openings where minimal overhead space is available. Wi-Fi programming allows for simple setup using any mobile device, including activation of the power close, latch assist and obstruction detection features.
Behavioral Health Cylindrical Lock
The Behavioral Health Cylindrical Lock, available from ASSA ABLOY Group brands Corbin Russwin and SARGENT, provides aesthetics, safety and reliability that complements healthcare facilities’ mission to create more-modern, peaceful environments for their patients. The integrated lever and escutcheon provide a streamlined look and feel that brings an elegant style to the most demanding environments and fits in behavioral-health areas. The Behavioral Health Cylindrical Lock is recognized by New York State Office of Mental Health (NYS-OMH) for use in high-risk areas.
New Learning Experience Platform
In addition, ASSA ABLOY features more recent product introductions in the New Product Showcase and is conducting demonstrations of the newly redesigned and easier-to-use Academy Learning Experience Platform (LXP), the company’s e-learning and in-person training system.
“Proper instruction and training on the latest developments in door security is critical for installers, integrators, architects or designers,” says Mark Brewer, AHC, PSP, director, Learning Experience Platform administration, ASSA ABLOY Opening Solutions Americas. “We are proud to offer the industry’s most comprehensive content on this new and dynamic platform.”
