Banque-Tec

Banque-Tec is a leading manufacturer of contactless smart card readers conforming to the Mifare standard. R&D and manufacturing is based in Sydney Australia and the first reader was introduced in 1995. In 1999 the UK office was opened, followed by the US office in 2001. Today Banque-Tec is a leading supplier on an OEM basis to the largest manufacturers of access control systems and building management systems. In 2001 Banque-Tec introduced the BT910 biometric unit where templates are stored on the Mifare smart card and all verification of the fingerprint is done within the reader. Other products include the STARESYS reader system, a standalone reader system where access control priveleges are stored on the card, parking meter systems as well as contactless readers for vending machines and ePurse.
