Irving, TX – September 29, 2020 – ABLOY USA Critical Infrastructure’s introduction of the PL321/PLLW321T padlock is proof that good things do come in small packages. This powerful padlock with a ¼-inch diameter shackle offers a bevy of high security features and is available as a mechanical or electromechanical CLIQ® padlock.
”This padlock is so diminutive and flexible, it can be applied to many different security situations,” stated Jerry Burhans, Managing Director of ABLOY USA Critical Infrastructure. ”With it being water tight, it’s a logical choice for applications ranging from locking utility meters and data center cabinets to telecommunications equipment and transportation enclosures. There are plenty of mix and match options for end-users to choose from.”
ABLOY’s smallest CLIQ padlock, the PL321/PLLW321T is part of the Super Weatherproof series. Impervious to water or extreme temperatures, it is IP68 rated. The mechanical body offers a 5mm thick stainless steel shackle with lengths of 20mm or 50mm. As the shorter of the two, it stands 38mm tall with an 18mm horizontal clearance; the PLLW321T is 50mm tall, by 33mm and 19mm.
A standard ABLOY® PROTEC2 mechanical key can be used to open it; the padlock is key retaining so you simply need to close the shackle in order to remove the key. A CLIQ key is an alternative solution to open the lock if the mechanical bitting is the same.
”CLIQ Web Manager software makes it easy to manage this padlock,” says Burhans. ”It allows you to grant access rights, set schedules and view audit reports. The electronic features of the Bluetooth CLIQ Connect key gives you the freedom to take things to another level. You can update the rights and get the audit trails in real time, which is more important than ever to the critical infrastructure segment these days.”
