Promotional Products Company Uses Zebra Printer to Create Custom ID Cards for Clients

Zip Specialties of Wheeling, Illinois has more than 30 years of experience in the promotional products and awards business. The company prides itself on meeting the needs of its customers, whether that need is for recognizing employees via awards or promoting a business with products advertising the company name.

When a customer requested customized name badges, Zip Specialties decided to purchase a card printer and print them in-house rather than outsourcing the job. The company chose a Zebra P330i printer to do the job.

Now, customized badges are another product Zip can offer customers.

“This was a way for us to print a badge inexpensively without having to go through silk screening or anything else,” reports Bob Haskin, president of Zip Specialties. “We probably ran 2,000 or 3,000 cards last year.”

“It works out pretty well. We get a list of 500 names and it automatically runs through the computer to the printer,” Haskin says. “There’s no stopping—we just keep feeding the printer with cards.”

Haskin’s son, who handles production, has found the printer very easy to use, he adds.
