IRVINE, Calif. -- HID Corporation, the premier manufacturer of contactless access control cards and readers for the security industry, today announced the expansion of its contactless smart card programmer family with the addition of the iCLASS CP575A. The latest addition to the company's iCLASS 13.56 MHz contactless smart card technology product line enables graphical user interface (GUI)-based programming of security-based applications, biometric capabilities, and card management functions.
HID's distributors, OEMs, system integrators, and end users can program cards on-site with access control data, biometric templates, and personal identification number (PIN) codes for additional security. Managing card customers, stocking blank credentials and programming them on-demand reduces end-user lead times and maximizes card management flexibility. The CP575A will also offer multi-lingual User Help functionality in German, French, Spanish and simplified Chinese later this year.
Today's introduction follows on the already introduced bioCLASSâ„¢ read/write contactless smart card reader with keypad and LCD display. bioCLASS supports multi-authentication of identity by combining a contactless smart card and fingerprint biometric presentation. It also joins HID's previously introduced CP400 iCLASS and Prox card programmers.
"With the introduction of the CP575A and its fingerprint enrollment capabilities, we can now provide customers with a complete biometric card management solution offering a higher level of security for their facility," said Jack Bubany, HID's iCLASS product manager.
The iCLASS CP575A comes complete with a desktop reader/writer, CD-ROM with programming software and documentation, graphical user interface (GUI), personalization diskette, universal power supply, and USB cable. The iCLASS CP575A (Part Number 3150ANN00) is available now through HID's network of distributors, OEMs, and system integrators worldwide. Site licenses for the iCLASS CP575A are required and will be managed by HID Corporation.
