LAS VEGAS, NV -- January 19, 2016 – Legrand, the global specialist in electrical and digital home infrastructures, has launched the Intuity 2.0 app for iOS devices, expanding the Intuity home automation ecosystem to include products from Nest, Schlage and Linear.
The free app, downloadable from the App Store, enables control of the system’s home security, entertainment, comfort, and convenience products from iPhones and iPods. Intuity systems currently in use will automatically recognize the corresponding firmware update and prompt users to accept it to enable the app and other system functions.
The Intuity system, part of the Legrand On-Q product line, is designed for the production home market and was launched in June. It consists of modular electronic components that create a quality infrastructure for high-performing automation solutions within a home.
The updated app interface, with distinct graphics which are uniform across all platforms, including Apple devices as well as Legrand Intuity Command Centers and PCs, offers intuitive, touch-panel control of Legrand and supported third-party components, enabling home owners to lock and unlock doors, adjust thermostats, operate garage doors, and perform more advanced automation functions that can be part of an Intuity system.
“Having a great app is key to customer satisfaction with a home automation system. Our Intuity 2.0 app, especially the interface, will exceed homeowners’ expectations by placing home control literally at their fingertips,” said Fritz Werder, VP and general manager of Legrand’s On-Q and Nuvo lines. “In addition, the new interface makes it easier for us to integrate additional third-party devices in the future, supporting the continued expansion of the Intuity ecosystem. With respect to the trade, Intuity provides home builders with a standardized and repeatable home automation solution while meeting home buyers ever increasing demands for a connected lifestyle.”
The Intuity 2.0 app supports the platform’s extensive and growing universe of third-party home automation products. Newly supported products include two models of Schlage Connect Locksets, the Z-Wave Models FE599 and BE469; two models of Nest thermostats, the B16 Models T200577 (gen 2) and T3007ES (gen 3); and the system’s first compatible garage door opener, the Linear Z-Wave Interface model GD00Z-4. To ensure a robust wireless signal is available to serve the Z-Wave components, an Aeotec Z-Wave Range Extender (model 1AEDSD37ZWUS) has also been certified for use with the Intuity platform. These products and systems join locksets from Kwikset and Yale, HVAC thermostats from Honeywell and Trane, as well as home security systems from Honeywell and GE/Interlogix.
