Kaba Access and Data Systems (ADS) is pleased to announce the addition of Embedded Access Control to its product portfolio. The former e-DATA line, purchased by Kaba in 2011, consists of the AX.S Series Access Control and I.AM Series Identity Access Management. These products offer users a new way to practice access control management. The AX.S Series includes a variety of controllers, door and alarm interfaces, and extension modules, and I.AM offers stand-alone (non-networked) and system identity access management readers with biometric technology.
The hub of the system is an embedded access control application on the Access Manager controller. With this design configuration, there is no need for software or servers; data is directly arranged and managed on the controller. Users simply type in the IP address directly into any web browser, log in to the system, and the screen displays the application options. From the main menu, users can administer the system, set up users, view events, and run reports.
According to Logan Stewart, product manager Kaba ADS Americas, “We’re excited about delivering such a flexible and scalable access control solution to our customers. The hardware has a very small footprint and only requires a few components—and it is Ethernet ready, supporting both REST and SOAP web services. The system works with all standard card readers as well as our own AR Fingerprint Key with biometric technology. It is fully scalable, including local or enterprise systems, and configurations accommodate from as few as two readers all the way up to 96 readers.”
The Embedded Access Control Series rounds out Kaba ADS’ access control and data capture product suite. In addition to the Embedded Access Control Series, Kaba ADS offers:
