Orion Entrance Control's Michael A. Johnson earns 'gold standard' of professional security management certifications
Laconia, New Hampshire – Michael A. Johnson CPP, CSPM, regional sales manager at Orion Entrance Control, Inc. (Orion) recently completed and passed the Certified Protection Professional (CPP®) exam and is now board certified in security management. The designation is administered through ASIS International and is globally recognized as the standard of excellence for security management professionals, of which there are only 4,500 in the world.
“For security professionals, having the CPP behind your name is a true indicator of expertise and signifies your rank as part of an elite group of security practitioners who uphold technical and ethical standards,” said Steve Caroselli, CEO and founder of Orion Entrance Control. “Our customers depend on us for every aspect of entrance control technology, and the ongoing excellence and professional development of our staff is one of the most important ways we provide them with peace of mind.”
The CPP exam covers business principles and practices, crisis management, information security, investigations, legal aspects, personnel security, physical security, and security principles and practices. Johnson’s work involves being a liaison between the company and its customers, such as hospitals, universities, and other facilities that require sophisticated systems to monitor and control who comes and goes.
“This certification tells my colleagues – consultants, engineers, security professionals and systems integrators – that they are working with someone who has proven themselves in this industry,” Johnson said. “As a manufacturer of security products, having a deeper knowledge of the industry as a whole lets us better serve our customers and clients.”
Orion works with customers to create and build technically-superior SpeedLane™ turnstiles and entrance solutions. These one of a kind projects are installed in high-rise buildings, corporate headquarters, government centers and educational institutions. Using materials made in North America – many of which are within a short drive from the company’s Laconia, New Hampshire headquarters – Orion can nimbly design, manufacture, build, and provide training for high-quality entrance control equipment, hardware, and software.
