CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, March 8, 2019– Nortek Security & Control (NSC), a global leader in wireless security, home automation, access control and health and wellness technology, today introduced the 2GIG eSeries, the next generation of the 2GIG security and control ecosystem that includes two all-new GC2e and GC3e panels and a unique encrypted sensor feature.
According to NSC Executive Vice President of Marketing and Innovation Joe Roberts, the 2GIG eSeries offers both end-users and dealers with a complete security and control ecosystem that builds on the reliability and peace-of-mind that 2GIG is known for.
“At the heart of the eSeries are the new encrypted sensors that truly elevate home security to the next level,” he said. “For end-users, the encryption makes the system more secure and greatly improves peace-of-mind, because it eliminates the possibility that a sensor could be disabled. For dealers, the encryption feature prevents competitors from taking over an eSeries installation by simply installing a new panel in the residence. The eSeries is a safer bet for everyone involved, which is a win-win.”
Compatible encrypted 2GIG sensors include the Standard D/W Sensor, Motion Sensor, Glass Break Sensor, Key Fob Sensor, Recessed D/W Sensor and CO Detector Sensor – with more to come in the future. “The new encrypted eSeries sensors work only with eSeries panels, which is why this feature is a major new benefit for 2GIG security dealers as well as users,” Roberts added.
The new GC2e panel includes a larger 5” touchscreen interface, while the GC3e features an updated, easier to use interface on its 7” touchscreen. Both panels have best-in-class front-firing speakers for exceptional audio performance. In addition to compatibility with encrypted sensors, both panels support all traditional 2GIG sensors and other legacy 345 sensors for easy system upgrades.
Additionally, the new GC3e panel exclusively includes the 2GIG Smart Areas™ feature, a new functionality that enables security panel partitioning that makes it easier than ever to set up ‘zone groups’ in homes. Smart Areas enables greater personalization and functionality for the end user, while simplifying installation for the installer. “The ability to arm and disarm up to four partitions independently makes the 2GIG GC3e panel more personalized than ever before,” said Roberts.
The GC3e panel also includes best-in-class voice quality for worry-free calls with monitoring services and emergency services, on-board demo and promo videos that keep users in-the-know, a screen saver mode with slideshows that displays favorite images when alerts and alarms are cleared, and an elegant new look that blends in with any environment.
“We have taken our legacy GC2 and GC3 panels and added even more features that enhance safety and security for the homeowner, and provide more value for the dealer,” Roberts concluded.
