The Illinois Electronic Security Association announced this week that IESA attorney Edward Williams and Security Dealer and Integrator magazine Editor-in-Chief Deborah O'Mara are both scheduled to speak at its next meeting on March 14.
O'Mara will discuss trends impacting the industry nationally, such as legislative items that dealers and integrators need to watch. Among the topics she will cover include the sun setting of POTS lines, background checks and the potential for industry workers to be granted access to disaster areas in some jurisdictions.
In addition, Williams will discuss legislation that could affect business owners in Illinois, including a new Fingerprint Vendor section under the state's licensure act that covers dealers, as well issues that impact video surveillance installations.
The meeting will take place at 6 p.m. at the Elk Grove Village Holiday Inn. For more information, contact the IESA at 773-632-3140.
