ATLANTA and NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- June 19, 2013 -- Uplink, a prime source in the security industry for alarm communicators since 1996, announced today the company’s burglary and fire celluar 4G communicators for commercial applications have received Underwriters Laboratory (UL) Listing. UL is an independent organization that conducts safety testing and certification on products worldwide. Uplink’s fire and burglary systems were tested and met the rigorous compliance requirements necessary to earn the UL Mark.
Uplink’s 4G communicator for commercial fire applications complies with UL-864 and UL-1635 (Standard for Control Units and Accessories for Fire Alarm Systems). The company’s burglary alarm communicator complies with UL-1610 (Standard for Central Station Burglar Alarm Units). Both units feature true 4G (HSPA+) cellular modules for greater speed and longevity.
“We are proud to have our products wear the UL mark. The UL symbol has been defining safety for over 116 years and we know that UL does not certifify a product until it passes a very stringent process. The UL mark authenticates our dedication to providing reliable and innovative technology to support the growing commercial security industry,” said Mike Marett, divisional president of Uplink. “Security professionals will see results from our investment in this certification, as a UL-listing is an important factor for their customers and even required for certain installations.“
The Uplink 4550-CF UL fire alarm communicator and Uplink 4550-CB UL police and central station burglary communicator deliver full event reporting and complete end-to-end signal verification as a backup to landline connections. The multi-carrier technology maximizes the coverage, reliability and longevity of the units. The service offers instant activation by secure dealer website or live operator with no additional programming or equipment required. Flat-rate billing is provided for improved dealer profitability. The Uplink systems are compatible with all major fire, police and central station panels and support Contact ID, SIA, DMP, Modem IIe/IIIa/IIIa² and Pulse 4/2 central station reporting formats.
Uplink announced earlier this year the company‘s “4G For Free” Upgrade and Save Program. Specifically designed to help usher the alarm industry into the next generation, the program allows alarm dealers to upgrade its installed base of 2G communicators from any cellular alarm communicator manufacturer to the latest 4G cellular technology.
