MELVILLE, N.Y., June 30, 2014 – Honeywell today released the LYNX Touch 7000, a self-contained security and control system for homes and small businesses that features a bright, 7-inch full-color touchscreen display with graphic icons and intuitive prompts for easy operation. With the ability to view live video of up to four cameras right on the large display, LYNX Touch 7000 enhances the user experience and provides home and business owners with better security and awareness of activities happening in and around the premises.
LYNX Touch 7000 also offers Z-Wave® automation capabilities, advanced alarm communications, garage door notification and control, tornado alerts and more. Along with two-way voice over GSM, LYNX Touch 7000 offers low-cost two-way voice over Wi-Fi® to streamline the installation process, provide greater options for connectivity and increase the potential for recurring monthly revenue (RMR).
“Research shows that consumers are looking for video as part of their security and connected home systems, and now dealers can add up to four IP cameras on every sale to meet that expectation,” said Rob Puric, marketing director for Connected Home, Honeywell Security Products Americas. “Once customers have video at their fingertips, they’ll want to interact with their systems wherever they are—an ideal opportunity to offerHoneywell Total Connect™ Remote Services.”
LYNX Touch 7000 supports quad-camera viewing when used with Honeywell Total Connect Video products: the iPCAM-PT, iPCAM-WO, iPCAM-WI2/B and ACU. Additionally, the Honeywell LYNX Connect app lets users locally view video and control their systems from any iOS or Android device.
LYNX Touch 7000 is part of Honeywell’s growing portfolio of end-to-end solutions for connected homes and businesses, including sensors, panels and keypads, alarm communications and more.
Like the recently released LYNX Touch 5200, LYNX Touch 7000 is ideal for both residential and small commercial applications and helps dealers broaden their connected home and business offerings. The sunrise/sunset feature can be programmed to trigger scenes such as lights turning on or off on a seasonal basis, and Z-Wave® lights can be randomly turned on and off to create an occupied appearance when homes and businesses are empty. The Night Stay Arming Mode arms preselected interior sensors—such as in a basement or on the main floor—while letting users move about freely in areas like hallways or upper floors.
The system supports up to six door locks, four thermostats and additional Z-Wave sensors that can shut down main water valves when water is detected—which may potentially avert and minimize the damages and costs associated with flood. In addition, it supports 80 wireless zones, a 256 local event log and up to 48 users.
Remote-upgradeable software eliminates the need for installers to schedule on-site visits, and more intuitive default settings reduce set-up and customization time. Free iOS and Android demo apps let dealers demonstrate how LYNX Touch 7000 works right to customers, directly from smart devices without the need for a physical keypad or demo case.
LYNX Touch 7000 recently took top honors at the Electronic Security Expo (ESX) on June 25—winning the prestigious 2014 Best Overall Maximum Impact Award. It was also recognized at the 2014 Security Industry Association (SIA) New Product Showcase Awards when previewed at ISC West in April, winning the Best in Intrusion Detection and Prevention Solutions Wireless category.
