ZEELAND, Michigan - Gentex Corporation (GNTX), a leading supplier of commercial and residential audible and visual signals, photoelectric smoke alarms and carbon monoxide alarms, has announced the release of a new low frequency notification appliance, ideal for meeting NFPA 72 low frequency requirements for commercial sleeping areas. As of January 1, 2014, NFPA 72 required all new commercial sleeping spaces to utilize an audible device that produces a low frequency alarm signal.
“We are excited to release the most efficient (dBA to mA ratio) low frequency notification appliance in the market. The industry leading current draw of the GHLF Series will reduce overall installation costs for our customers,” said Dave Christian, Operations Manager, Gentex Fire Protection Products Group.
The GHLF horn offers a low frequency temporal 3 tone with a jumper for choosing between normal or loud decibel levels. A temporal 4 tone pattern is also available when used with the Gentex GTSM Synchronization Module. The temporal 4 low frequency audible has been measured to the testing methods of ANSI/UL 2075, and both the GHLF temporal 3 and temporal 4 audible tones can be synchronized using the Gentex GTSM synchronization module.
The GHLF is shipped with a standard 4” metal mounting plate which allows the system to be prewired and the mounting bracket to be installed before installing the signal. The popular
Super-Slide® and Checkmate® features have also been incorporated into the GHLF along with a locking mechanism which secures the product to the bracket without any visible screws. The GHLF is available in a red or white faceplate and mounts to a standard 4” x 2 1/8” deep back box.
The GHLF is listed to ANSI/UL 464 and CAN/ULC S525 and is warranted for three years from date of purchase.
