Wireless fire detector with a built-in siren. The detector has a dust-proof smoke chamber, a dual-spectrum optical smoke sensor, two A1R thermistors and a CO chemical sensor, and versions with sealed (10 years) and replaceable batteries (up to 7 years). Interconnect feature allows all fire detectors at the facility to activate sirens as one of them detects a threat.
The detector can operate autonomously or as a part of the Ajax system, communicating with the hub via the Jeweller radio protocol (up to 1700 m). The detector is configured in the app, sends reach notifications, and triggers scenarios (such as capturing photos on a motion detector with a camera in case of an alarm).
FireProtect 2 complies with EN 14604, EN 50291, and Q mark.
FireProtect 2 has a unique smoke-detecting system. The detector’s patented smoke chamber is designed with zero possibility of contamination that can affect detection. A unique circulation mechanism provides the optical sensor with an unobstructed field to quickly identify products of combustion in the air. Also, the smoke chamber does not require regular cleaning, which simplifies the detector’s maintenance.
The smoke chamber is hardwired with a dual-spectrum optical sensor that has blue and infrared LEDs with different wavelengths. It uses a real-time detection method, directly measuring the microparticle concentration in the air. This technology allows FireProtect 2 to determine the size of the volatile particles inside the chamber and respond only to smoke, ignoring vapour and water steam.
In-depth research on materials combustion resulted in HazeFlow 2 — a smoke detection algorithm developed by Ajax. The algorithm contemporaneously analyses and compares data from the dual-spectrum optical sensor to a specified pattern to define smoke from vapour or steam. The detector instantly raises the alarm when pattern dynamics indicate a real case of fire.
As a result of combining unique hardware and software solutions, the reliability of detection has become extremely high. The FireProtect 2 reacts accurately to smoke and does not bother people on the premises with false alarms.
