HS Technology Group, a Baltimore-based wireless technologies provider, received the 2011 Police Dispatch Quality (PDQ) award for itsfire alarm dispatch reductions. The award was given by the Security Industry Alarm Coalition, the False Alarm Reduction Association and the Installation Quality Certification Program, and is awarded to alarm installing and monitoring businesses for creating best practices that help prevent false alarm dispatches.
Steve Haggemann, manager for the Baltimore County Government’s False Alarm Reduction Section, said HS Technology’s false alarm dispatch rate has never exceeded 0.19.
“In effect, this means that HS Technology’s customers, on average, experience a false alarm less than once every five years,” he said.
Stan Martin, SIAC executive director, said HS Technology stands out from other companies because it utilizes a third-party monitoring service.
“Working with that provider, HS Technology demonstrates a superior practice of following up with new customers and those customers with previous dispatches in order to improve education and reduce the number of unnecessary dispatches,” he said.
In addition to providing strong practices, companies given this award excel in customer service, specifically lowering clients’ false alarm rates, developing support information and providing superior training to technicians and customers.
