Boca Raton, Florida (December 2012) – Elmridge Protection Products, LLC announces NIOSH certification has been awarded to the iEvac® Smoke/Fire Hood for CS/CN/P100.
In addition to NIOSH certification, the iEvac® Smoke/Fire Hood has continued to maintain ongoing certification to the ANSI/ISEA 110-2009 as the only American standard for a smoke/fire escape hood.
Rigorous testing was done by the U.S. Army Research, Development and Engineering Command, Edgewood Chemical Biological Center and measured to the ISO 9001:2008 standard and certified by Safety Equipment Institute (SEI).
U.S. Department of Homeland Security has designated the iEvac Smoke/Fire Hood as a Qualified Anti-Terrorism Technology.
The iEvac Smoke/Fire Hood can be worn by an individual to help them safely escape from a fire. In an emergency, the iEvac Smoke/Fire Hood can be put on in less 30 seconds, allowing an immediate safe escape from toxic fumes The three layers of filtering to the iEvac are an effective combination of HEPA filtration, catalyst and impregnated activated carbon. Protecting against the head, lungs and eyes, the clear hood has an unobstructed field of view with high visibility reflective strips for easy recognition. The iEvac Smoke/Fire Hood can be used with eyeglasses, beards, and long hair.
Testing for the hood materials included toxic gases such as: Ammonia, Sulfur Dioxide, Hydrogen Chloride, Hydrogen Sulfide, Chlorine, Smoke and varying temperatures relating to extremes of radiant heat, cold, pressure, shock and vibration. iEvacs have been purchased by the military; international, federal, state and local agencies; law enforcement, major corporation, high rise building management, consumers and multi-dwelling owners.
