Fire-Lite Alarms announces new web-based customer initiatives
NORTHFORD, Conn. – Fire-Lite Alarms by Honeywell has launched a program utilizing a number of Web-based platforms, such as Online trainings, Webinars and social media, to make itself more transparent and accessible to its customers.
“The message is loud and clear – people want immediate information on our equipment, how to use it and how to troubleshoot any issues. And whatever the vehicle, it needs to be quick and to the point,” says Liz Richards, Fire-Lite Alarms communications manager. “If they want more information afterward, then they can do some Web browsing or contact Fire-Lite directly.”
Research from top 10 Internet reporting agencies, such as Marketing Pilgrim, predict customer engagement using social media will increase within five years to 57%—the second-most used channel, behind only face-to-face interaction. Adding this reality to the growing number of mobile devices fire alarm installers are utilizing in the field, Fire-Lite grasped the networking opportunities offered by social media sites like Twitter and LinkedIn.
“They appreciate receiving new info, but what our customers like most is having an easy means for telling us their ideas, asking questions and talking with other installers,” says Richards. “And we do fun stuff like contests too.”
In response to overwhelming customer requests, Fire-Lite Alarms also launched a series of free, online training modules, each worth 0.1 Continuing Education Units (CEUs). Since their first use in early June, the six online training courses have been viewed more than 700 times.
With nearly 500 registrations for its most recent Webinar, Fire-Lite Alarms sees the value in continuing to employ various methods, such as Webinars, to educate on best practices. Each free, one-hour Webinar is designed to demonstrate how to utilize Fire-Lite Alarms equipment and free tools in the most effective manner, with unique installer features always highlighted. A new round of Webinars will soon be announced for 2013 while recordings of previous Webinars will remain online for immediate viewing.
