Blackline Safety to introduce new features for G7 EXO Area Gas Monitor
CALGARY, Canada--Blackline Safety Corp., a global leader in connected safety technology, today announced it is adding new features to its G7 EXO portable area gas monitor.
Designed with quick, drop-and-go deployment and built-in cellular and satellite connectivity, the G7 EXO provides real-time data on the area it is monitoring. The device sounds alarms both on the device itself and in the company’s monitoring software, Blackline Live, when it detects gas—protecting both people and the environment from hazardous situations.
The new G7 EXO features, available in April 2024, include:
- AlertLink proximity-based warning alerts, increasing employee safety via advance warning of potentially dangerous conditions and expediting evacuations.
- Automatic bump testing, ensuring devices are always in compliance and working properly, and eliminating time-consuming and costly physical site visits.
- 24/7 continuous run-time via solar panel and 100+ days of battery life.
- Flexible port configurations to tailor accessory device capabilities to the work environment.
“The breadth of G7 EXO’s enhanced capabilities elevate our industry-leading drop-and-go solution, providing customers with the flexibility to respond quickly to incidents, manage compliance and harness vital insights to reduce risk—all with less effort and cost, and greater peace of mind,” said Cody Slater, CEO and Chair, Blackline Safety.
“We collaborated with customers and designed these new features to help them take their safety operations to the next level. We’re pleased to offer existing customers the ability to upgrade their G7 EXO devices via over-the-air firmware updates starting in April 2024,” Slater added.
Companies deploy G7 EXO to protect worksites during shutdowns, turnarounds and construction projects, and to monitor tank farms, drilling rigs, confined spaces and fence-lines. Fire and hazmat teams use EXO to monitor potentially volatile response situations, including electric vehicle fires and fires with dangerous off-gassing. With EXO, organizations can accurately visualize what’s happening in the area and rapidly alert or evacuate teams in the event of a hazard or emergency.
G7 EXO with new features will be shipping in April 2024. Existing customers will receive the new features through firmware over-the-air updates in the same month.
G7 EXO will be on display at a global roadshow kicking off at National Safety Council (NSC) Safety Congress & Expo booth #3621 in New Orleans from October 23-25, and A+A 2023: Trade Fair and Congress at Hall 1, E18 in Dusseldorf, Germany from October 24-27.
