STI’s Fire Extinguisher Theft Stopper helps prevent fire extinguisher theft
May 13, 2014 – With the cost of fire extinguishers on the rise, it is now more important than ever to protect these vital units.
STI reports the solution to help keep them safe is the Fire Extinguisher Theft Stopper® (STI-6200). The battery operated alarm offers a unique steel cable operated switch mechanism, to help stop theft and vandalism of fire extinguishers.
If the protected fire extinguisher is moved from its normal position, the device emits a piercing alarm (95 or 105 dB). This alarm helps draw attention to a fire extinguisher and the vandal will either run or be caught. Completely self-contained, the device does not interfere with fire fighting in any way.
The easy to install alarm comes complete with a 9 volt battery, anchors and screws. Also supplied is a short cable to deactivate the alarm for service of the fire extinguisher. A 12 volt DC remote powered model or wireless model is also available.
