LAS VEGAS, NV — March 31, 2014 –– Proximex, part of the Security Products business unit of Tyco (NYSE: TYC), announces the release of Version 7.0 of its Surveillint Physical Security Information Management (PSIM) solution, which includes several enhancements, such as new sensor state functionality and configuration wizards that deliver improved situational awareness while simplifying deployment and operator experience.
With Surveillint 7.0, operators can tell at a glance the state of their sensors and other important systems through real-time sensor state reporting. By knowing if cameras are “recording” or “offline”; doors are “locked” or “unlocked”; and intrusion sensors are in “access” or “secure” mode, operators can achieve a higher level of situational awareness.
“With each new version of Surveillint, operators are gaining new tools to help them identify what is happening in an increasingly complex environment, while simplifying how they manage the myriad information,” said Michael Mesaros, Group Product Manager for Proximex. “Those who have come to rely on Proximex for innovation in the PSIM marketplace will find this latest edition of Surveillint delivers on the promise to provide better insights into security operations.”
This newest version of Surveillint also features intuitive wizards which make integrations easy to deploy and configure. The wizards step integrators through the entire sensor selection and configuration process, reducing the time it takes to deploy systems while reducing the potential for errors.
In addition, Surveillint 7.0 further simplifies the operator experience with a new sensor maintenance mode which allows sites to more easily maintain and upgrade their security systems without generating distracting alerts for the operators. Customizable icons provide operators with at-a-glance awareness of different sensor information such as infrared, FLIR, megapixel camera and so on for fast action.
With the Surveillint 7.0 release, Proximex is also introducing its new native iPhone client application. Available for download from the Apple App Store, Surveillint Mobile enables users to review alert information, complete response workflow tasks, and reassign and escalate alerts. Surveillint Mobile users can also access the iPhone’s native camera and map utilities to create user and panic alerts. Surveillint Mobile extends the reach of Surveillint beyond the command and control center to provide situational awareness and response capabilities to supervisors and responders in the field.
