Dutch and U.S. authorities agree to screen air travelers using biometric data, says Chertoff

Dutch and US authorities are to screen air travellers using biometric data, such as iris scans, US Homeland Security Secretary Michael Chertoff said on Monday (23 May).

The pilot project, in which travellers can pass border controls with a biometric card without additional questioning or screening, is to start in the autumn at New York's JFK airport and Amsterdam's Schiphol airport, reported Reuters.
