Today sees the addition of the NCA-1611 to Lanner’s NCA Series network appliances. The NCA Series appliances are an extension of Lanner’s exceptionally successful FW Series, these Network Communication Appliances (NCA) are powered by the latest Intel CPU/chipset and are optimized for next-gen virtual network functions such as SD-WAN, SD-Security and mobile edge computing.
The 8-core NCA-1611 is a NEBS-compliant desktop network appliance built with Intel Xeon D-1500 Series CPU (codenamed Broadwell-DE NS). It is virtualization-ready, features 8x LAN ports, 2x 10G SFP+, up to 128GB (RDIMM) or 64GB (ECC) system memory, and is optimized with SR-IOV, allowing a device, such as a network adapter, to separate access to its resources among various PCIe Virtual Functions.
In addition to being NEBS-compliant, the NCA-1611 is also K.12 certified. Its carrier-grade design comes with Intel® QuickAssist Technology at 40G, ideal for SD-VPN and SD-Security deployment scenarios. For wireless connectivity, the NCA-1611 offers dual mini-PCIe (one with SIM reader), supporting Wi-Fi, LTE, IPMI, simplifying service deployment at remote sites and most SME office branches.
The NCA-1611’s other notwithstanding features include 1 pair of Gen. 3 LAN bypass, TPM 2.0 and 90W 1+1 Redundant PSUs.
