SAN DIEGO, March 7, 2012 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Kratos Defense & Security Solutions, Inc., a leading National Security Solutions provider, announced today that Patrick Howard, the former Nuclear Regulatory Commission's (NRC) Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) has joined Kratos' SecureInfo group.
Mr. Howard joins Kratos from the NRC, where he served as the CISO since May 2008. There he focused his efforts on providing vision, leadership and oversight for NRC's agency-wide information technology (IT) security program, which was recently recognized by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) as one of the top four programs in the federal government. Prior to joining the NRC, he worked as the CISO at the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), where he managed HUD's enterprise-wide IT security program. Mr. Howard led HUD to a first ever "A+" score on Congress' 2006 FISMA Report Card and was recognized as a 2007 Fed 100 winner for his accomplishments in government IT. Mr. Howard is the author of several security books, including the Total CISSP Exam Prep Book, Building and Implementing a Security Certification and Accreditation Program and Beyond Compliance: FISMA Principles and Best Practices.
