BOSTON -- Tufin today announced that it has acquired AKIPS, a provider of network monitoring solutions for enterprises across the globe. The addition of AKIPS supports Tufin’s mission to empower network teams with end-to-end visibility, actionable insights, continuous compliance, and best-in-class automation, accelerating the secure deployment of critical business applications that drive growth and directly impact revenue. The terms of the deal were not disclosed.
“Enterprise networks continue to expand in scale and complexity, making it more difficult to efficiently manage and secure the overall environment,” said Ray Brancato, Chief Executive Officer at Tufin. “IT and security teams need visibility and management tools that are fast and cost-effective to keep up with this never-ending expansion. AKIPS’ award-winning network monitoring solution will strengthen our ability to provide customers with a comprehensive look at their operations, helping to speed discovery and resolution time.”
With a global base of more than 250 customers and product coverage of over 90 vendors, including Fortinet, Palo Alto, Check Point, and Cisco, AKIPS is relied upon to accurately deliver real-time insights into network performance, empowering teams to proactively address potential network performance issues before they impact the end-user experience.
The combination of Tufin and AKIPS creates a differentiated offering in the marketplace, with complementary solutions that provide customers with the tools they need to fully take control of their security environments.
“AKIPS’ solution is a perfect match for the end-to-end visibility and automation tools that Tufin provides. Enterprise IT teams are being asked to do more and more every day - which requires information and automation to accomplish. By teaming with Tufin, our customers can take advantage of the industry’s top network security policy automation technology to answer these challenges,” added Mark Birkinshaw, AKIPS’ CEO, who will remain with the company following the acquisition.
Enterprises require advanced solutions that can provide insight into both network and cloud security, while also providing the ability to automate manual and repetitive tasks. Tufin’s platform has helped more than 2,900 customers across various industries improve the efficiency and effectiveness of their security operations, extending visibility and compliance readiness.
Demand for the company’s security policy management platform is increasing rapidly, as a growing number of companies are managing cross-platform environments spanning on-premise, Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform, and other hybrid platform technologies. The Tufin Orchestration Suite was recently awarded the 2023 Top InfoSec Innovator Award for Most Innovative Network Security and Management, the 2023 Security Today CyberSecured Award for Policy Management, and new features were announced that make it easier for cloud and network security teams to manage today’s complex networks.
In late 2023, Tufin’s Partner Program was also refreshed, reaffirming the company’s channel-first approach. The addition of AKIPS to Tufin will continue this momentum, while further enhancing the company’s offerings.
“Enterprise IT and security operations teams are not expanding, but their responsibilities are. At the same time, uptime, performance, and security are increasingly critical to the success of any business. That is why solutions that can provide visibility and management from a single point-of-access, while automating tasks from vulnerability discovery to secure deployment, will be so important,” said Brancato. “We believe that Tufin is well-positioned to take advantage of the need to improve efficiency and effectiveness across today’s multi-vendor hybrid networks.”
