Apple issues security update for multiple products

The update provides important bug and security fixes for the iPhone – including one flaw that has apparently been utilized by bad actors. Apple also said WebKit was impacted.

The Cybersecurity & Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) issued an alert about potential vulnerabilities with Apple products, warning users to execute critical updates on affected devices.

The update provides important bug and security fixes for the iPhone – including one flaw that has apparently been utilized by bad actors. Apple also said WebKit was impacted.

"Processing maliciously crafted web content may lead to arbitrary code execution," Apple said. "Apple is aware of a report that this issue may have been actively exploited."

The updates also address another issue with iPhone's Kernel framework, saying an app, "may be able to execute arbitrary code with kernel privileges," the tech company said.

CISA encouraged users and administrators to review the Apple security updates page for the following products apply the updates as soon as possible:

• Safari 16.3.1

• iOS 16.3.1 and iPadOS 16.3.1

• macOS 13.2.1
