GovSky launches software platform to streamline cybersecurity compliance

GovSky’s mission is to help businesses efficiently earn compliance and stay focused on their critical role in defense of our nation.

GovSky today announced the public launch of its software platform. Built by a founding team of compliance and security experts, GovSky’s goal is to cut the time and cost of compliance for customers in half, by providing functionality such as implementation guidance, project management, evidence organization and document automation.

“We founded GovSky because we realized that successfully implementing and passing a CMMC audit is going to be very hard for most companies in the Defense Industrial Base given the time, complexity and cost,” said Conor McClintock, Co-Founder and CEO of GovSky. “Fortunately, many of the compliance workflows can be optimized by software, which is exactly what we’ve built. Our goal is to help our customers get and stay compliant as quickly and cost-effectively as possible, so they can protect their business from attacks.”

Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) is a cybersecurity compliance requirement developed by the U.S. Department of Defense to ensure government contractors handling sensitive government information meet certain cybersecurity standards, from basic cybersecurity hygiene practices to more advanced security measures. CMMC is currently being rolled out in government contracts over the next few years, and will be a requirement for more than 500,000 companies in America’s Defense Industrial Base.

Depending on a company’s starting point, implementing CMMC and successfully passing an audit is challenging, expensive and time-consuming, taking 6-18 months to implement and costing over $200,000 for the typical small business. GovSky’s mission is to reduce this burden so these businesses can efficiently earn compliance and stay focused on their critical role in defense of our nation.

With their platform now publicly available, GovSky will focus on onboarding their backlog of customers and adding even more time-saving functionality.

GovSky has raised $2.5M in funding to date, with backing from Peterson Ventures, Revolution, SaaS Ventures, Sequoia, and others.
