Texarkana-area Courthouse to use Emergency Button System

The courthouse in Miller County, Ark., has moved to an interesting wireless emergency system following the high-profile incident of a judge's murder in the Atlanta courthouse.

The officials approved and have now begun testing an alarm system that uses emergency "buttons" which can automatically put out a call on police dispatch radios.

Twenty-five of the emergency buttons will be used and distributed. Buttons will be able to broadcast a message specific to a location in the courthouse.

According to KTAL-TV in Shreveport, La., the new system will cost the courthouse approximately $14,000.
