Utah investigators say they have recovered a cache of stolen computer data tapes containing personal information on 1.5 million hospital patients.
The Salt Lake County Sheriff's office told the Salt Lake Tribune Wednesday no arrests had been made; however the investigation was ongoing.
The tapes were stolen last month from a courier vehicle and contained a bounty of information from patients at the University of Utah's network of hospitals and clinics.
It was not known Wednesday if any of that data, including Social Security and driver's license numbers, was used for identity theft. A news conference on the recovery was scheduled for later Wednesday.
