Want to see which new technologies are leading the way in the industry? Make sure to swing by the Security Industry Association's (SIA) New Product Showcase at ISC West this April to get the latest scoop. With a prime location right outside the entrance to the show floor, it will be hard to miss how leading manufacturers and technology developers are up'ing their game to bring the most innovative solutions to end-users, dealers and systems integrators.
An increase in this year's categories, from 18 to 27, reflects changes in technology and allows products to compete on a more even ground. For example, within the expanded video categories (i.e. video categories expanded from three to seven), analog cameras won't be competing against newer HD or megapixel technology. This aligns with the needs assessment that Reed Exhibitions conducted recently, in which 78 percent of respondents indicated they will be looking for video surveillance products at ISC West in 2011. Other new categories featured include: Vehicles and Vehicle Protection Systems category; and Network Support Solutions category.
Also new for this year is the Honorable Mention award, which allows judges to acknowledge entries that deserve recognition in highly competitive categories. Winners will be announced and presentations made at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday April 6th in SIA's booth 10074. Look for updates at ISC West. See you in Vegas!
