Recently retired U.S. Army Lieutenant General Russel L . Honore will accelerate his campaign to "build a culture of preparedness" in this country by delivering the keynote address at the upcoming Every Crisis is a Human Crisis national symposium.

An unsurpassed group of experts will show, during panel discussions and presentations, how the preparedness of people can determine their success in surviving a crisis. Honore and former U.S. Surgeons General C. Everett Koop and David Satcher will be among the distinguished speakers at the Every Crisis is a Human Crisis symposium.
Honore is best known as the commander of Joint Task Force Katrina, responsible for coordinating military relief efforts across the hurricane-devastated areas of the Gulf Coast. His new mission: shake Americans out of the complacency Firestorm refers to as "Disaster Denial."
"Hurricanes Katrina and Rita were living examples of what can happen before, during and after a disaster," Honore said. "We must learn to see first, understand first and act first. We must learn to get to the left side of the disaster."
The symposium will focus on the challenges inherent in preparing for, surviving, and recovering from disasters and will give government, corporate and organizational leadership a deeper understanding of the value of human capital and how to protect it.
The National Security Health Policy Center is a center within the Potomac Institute for Policy Studies (http://www.potomacinstitute.org) that focuses on maintaining national security while preventing, detecting, and responding to a growing number of health threats, through sound and actionable national health policy.
