EVENT: The purpose of this Potomac Institute for Policy Studies seminar is to discuss how changes in the climate will affect national security. The seminar features two panels of experts who will discuss the science of climate change and its anticipated impacts on national security. Scientists will set the stage by giving a general background on the current trends in climate change. Addressing both land and glacial ice cap issues, the prominent scientists will outline what changes the national security community and policymakers should expect to see in the coming decades. Speakers from the intelligence community will then consider these developments and address the potential impacts of global climate change on national security.
