The VESDA VFT-15 aspirating smoke detection (ASD) system from Xtralis was recently honored at ISC West with the 2010 New Product Showcase award for the Best Fire and Life Safety Solution. The early-warning fire detection system provides pinpoint addressability for up to 15 protected areas. As a multi-channel system, it divides a protected space into sampling sectors, enabling the reliable detection and location of a fire at a very early stage, which is key to fast and intelligent emergency response. The unit can be configured to protect a number of environments, including cabinets, electronic data processing rooms, prisons, historic homes, museums and art galleries. Current listings and approvals include: UL, FM, VdS, CE - EMC, LVD and CPD, and EN54-20.
