Chertoff Group adds three new Senior Advisors with extensive national security expertise

The Chertoff Group, a global security and growth advisory firm, is pleased to announce the addition of three distinguished senior advisors to its team. Amb. Nathan Sales, Jay Humphlett, and John Mulligan bring diverse expertise to further enhance the firm's capabilities.

Ambassador Nathan Sales served at the U.S. Department of State as acting Under Secretary for Civilian Security, Democracy, and Human Rights. Concurrently, he was Ambassador-at-Large and Coordinator for Counterterrorism, serving as the principal advisor to the Secretary of State on international counterterrorism matters and leading the State Department's Counterterrorism Bureau.

A business transformation expert, Jay Humphlett led high-impact strategic capture initiatives at Raytheon and Dataminr. He began his career as an F-14 Tomcat RIO, where he graduated from TOPGUN. After the Navy, he worked in venture capital, held executive P&L positions at Raytheon, founded a private equity and consulting firm, served as President for a special mission aviation firm, and then as CEO for a premier provider of intelligence-driven global health protection.

John Mulligan is the former Deputy Director of the National Counterterrorism Center and former Chief of National Security Agency Counterterrorism. He helped develop multiple government-wide strategic plans and operations to counter threats to the U.S. homeland. He also served as a member of NSA's Board of Directors, leading the agency's Engagement and Policy Directorate.
