The Security Innovator Awards is the industry’s only 100% peer-nominated program to recognize the innovative contributions made by individuals in the security industry – from integrators to consultants, to practitioners, to manufacturers and service providers.
Instead of forming a panel or a committee to accept and vet nominations, we opened this award to anyone to be able to recognize a fellow employee or a partner with whom they work closely for being innovative.
“The Security Innovator Awards fills a unique void in this industry for peer-nominated recognition,” said SecurityInfoWatch Editorial Director Steve Lasky. “These awards applaud innovation and honor individuals who demonstrate an outstanding level of excellence within our vital and constantly evolving industry.”
Through email outreach and social media, we asked everyone in the industry to nominate a deserving colleague for consideration. This year’s version of the Security Innovator Awards gained significant momentum, more than doubling last year’s nominations.
We asked them to focus on a key aspect of the nominee’s innovation – someone who, for example:
• Devised a new or innovative way to deploy a technology solution;
• Stepped up during a crisis or other emergency;
• Went above and beyond to have a positive impact in the community or for our industry;
• Developed a new, game-changing technology, feature, or standard;
• Demonstrated a long career of innovation;
• And more – as long as it was industry-related and innovative, it was considered.
Nominations for the 2025 Security Innovator Award will open in late February 2025.

Nominations are open today! Just fill out the form indicating who your nominee is, where they work, and why you think they should be honored as a Security Industry Innovator in 2024. Your nominee can be an employee, colleague, friend, or business partner.
Remember, this is an award for individuals, not organizations, and these nominations will be vetted. There is no fee to nominate an individual.
Nominations close on May 17.
Honored individuals will be featured in the July issue of Security Business, the July/August issue of Security Technology Executive, and on SecurityInfoWatch.com. There will be an opportunity to upgrade an honoree’s recognition with special packages designed to highlight and enhance the acknowledgment.
