Much like the months preceding it, May saw extremely active M&A activity among integration companies, with many now-familiar players making additional 2022 purchases.
Here’s a recap of some of the noteworthy deals made in May:
Sciens Building Solutions acquires Time and Alarm Systems (TAS)
With already-established locations in the San Francisco area, TAS increases Sciens’ presence in the state of California, allowingTime and Alarm Systems was established in 1978 with a focus on the integration of fire, security, and sound systems. They specialize in the SoCal K-12 school market.
ADT Commercial acquires Key-Rite Security
ADT Commercial continued its strategic M&A strategy to expandSince 1975, Key-Rite Security has been a locally owned and operated security provider specializing in access control, surveillance, intrusion, and intercom systems for a wide range of commercial environments in the state of Colorado and for customers across the U.S.
Electronic Systems Group (ESG) joins Cook & Boardman
Founded in 2015 by Brian Brandt, Pennsylvania-based ESG is a security and systems integrator focused on delivering complexThe company will continue to operate under the Electronic Systems Group name and customer contacts will remain unchanged as a result of the acquisition. ESG represents C&B’s 20th acquisition since being acquired by Littlejohn in October 2018.
Pye-Barker back to fire acquisitions
After several alarm company acquisitions over the past few months, (see more here), Pye-Barker Fire & Safety got back to its fireand life safety roots by acquiring Paradise Fire Protection of Logan, Utah, a specialist in installation, inspection, testing and maintenance of fire alarms, sprinklers and extinguishers. Paradise Fire owner John Blankman and his team
will stay with the company, and the business will continue to operate as normal with additional resources from Pye-Barker.
Guardian Alarm makes its second Ohio acquisition of 2022
Guardian Alarm has acquired Executive Security Consultants (ESC) of Columbus, Ohio., as its second acquisition this year in the Ohio market. Established in 1988 by Doug and Sandy Huey, ESC provides residential and commercial alarm services in thegreater Columbus area.
Together, they worked countless hours to ensure they were providing peace of mind to their customers. This acquisition continues this legacy as both companies provide exemplary, personalized customer service, but also have a family-like culture that exists within their teams.
“Guardian Alarm has been serving the Columbus market for many years and we look forward to welcoming the employees and customers of Executive Security Consultants,” said Brent Uhl, President and CEO of Guardian Alarm. “With this merger, we will be able to expand their services to include fire and alarm services to area businesses and municipalities.”
