    On June 7, the Security Industry Association (SIA) was proud to present the first-ever Security Industry Community Service Day, an initiative created by the SIA Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) Advisory Board to rally the entire security industry to give back and make the world a better place.

    The inaugural Security Industry Community Service Day – supported by event sponsors ASSA ABLOY and HID – stems from a day of service that volunteers from Zenitel and Convergint pioneered and spread this commitment of service to the entire security industry.

    Going forward, SIA’s Security Industry Community Service Day will be held on the first Friday in June each year.

    SIA member companies and other industry organizations participated in the 2024 Security Industry Community Service Day by facilitating team and/or individual volunteer efforts with local food pantries and meal providers, clothing drives, parks, schools and student outreach programs, zoos, animal shelters and rescues, and more.
