National Retail Federation hires loss prevention expert
The National Retail Federation announced it hired veteran loss prevention expert David Johnston as vice president for asset protection and retail operations.
“David Johnston brings a wealth of knowledge to NRF within the loss prevention and asset protection sector,” said NRF's chief marketing officer and EVP of content and membership, Martine Reardon. “David joins NRF at a critical time when the retail industry is facing an increase in annual shrink and organized retail crime. His industry experience and knowledge will further elevate NRF’s loss prevention programs, communications and advocacy work.”
A career retail professional, Johnston has more than three decades of asset protection experience across various retail segments. Prior to joining NRF, he served as senior director, Loss Prevention & Corporate Security for Inspire Brands. His experience also includes roles with Dunkin’, LP Innovations and micros|Datavantage and former retailers J. Baker and Jordan Marsh.
Johnston has also been a longstanding member of NRF’s Loss Prevention Advisory Council and has been a featured speaker at NRF PROTECT.
