Intel's Kasia Hanson to receive the SIA Progress Award
SILVER SPRING, Md. – The Security Industry Association (SIA) has named Kasia Hanson, global director – video, safety and security – Network and Edge Group at Intel Corporation, as the 2022 recipient of the SIA Progress Award, an honor presented by SIA’s Women in Security Forum (WISF) celebrating individuals who pave the way to success for women in the security industry. SIA will present Hanson with the award on Wednesday, Nov. 16, during the 2022 SIA Honors Night reception.
Hanson – who serves as SIA’s WISF chair – leads Intel’s global video, safety and security sales for the company’s Network and Edge Group. Her team drives technology design, go-to-market and ecosystem orchestration strategies that drive revenue and adoption of artificial intelligence and edge technologies across the security industry. She is a 22-year veteran of Intel with deep technology expertise across the Internet of Things, AI, physical security and cybersecurity, data center and storage. Additionally, Hanson is a Distinguished Fellow for the Innovation Institute for Fan Experience and was named the No. 3 IFSEC Global Security Influencer in 2021.

Hanson, who has chaired the SIA Women in Security Forum since 2021, led the 2022 launch of the WISF Power 100, an annual initiative recognizing 100 women in the security industry who are role models for actively advancing diversity, inclusion, innovation and leadership in the community. The Power 100 honorees are an accomplished, impactful group who are modeling leadership, inspiring others and transforming the security industry. Additionally, Hanson has spearheaded a variety of leadership and professional development initiatives through WISF, including informative and inspiring virtual events for and by women and professional development content and networking offerings at major industry trade shows.

SIA’s Progress Award recognizes SIA members who have shown excellence in their advancement of opportunities and success for women in the security industry. Each year’s recipient is determined based on their contributions to fostering women in the industry, promotion of women’s professional growth through mentorship and/or sponsorship, recognitions and awards for related activities and demonstration of the highest levels of professionalism and integrity in the security industry.
SIA’s Women in Security Forum works to engage all security professionals to promote, recruit and cultivate the leadership of women for a more inclusive and diversified industry.
