Security Industry Association joins Expo Seguridad Mexico as Premier Sponsor
SILVER SPRING, Md.–The Security Industry Association (SIA) and Expo Seguridad Mexico have announced SIA’s new role as Premier Sponsor of Expo Seguridad Mexico, the largest event for the security industry in Latin America. This partnership, announced during ISC West 2023, is one of the key efforts led by SIA’s reconstituted International Relations Committee, which works to internationally represent and advocate for SIA members in the security industry.
Each year at Expo Seguridad Mexico–a three-day meeting with national and international technology, solutions and knowledge for manufacturers, distributors, integrators and users–the security industry gathers to interact, update and exchange knowledge. This year’s event will take place on April 18-20 at the Citibanamex Center in Mexico City, Mexico. SIA’s involvement in Expo Seguridad Mexico 2023 will include the development of up to six conference sessions and a networking event presented by SIA’s RISE community for young security professionals and those new to the industry.
SIA Chair James Rothstein has appointed Jason de Souza, vice president, Latin America at Hanwha Vision to serve as the chair of the International Relations Committee. The Committee serves as an authoritative resource for SIA members and their partners in priority international security markets, beginning with the security market in Latin America. The committee is the oversight body charged with developing and executing SIA’s international outreach strategies and programming objectives designed to promote international cooperation and marketing opportunities between SIA members and various international security companies and security industry trade associations.
“I am honored to be joining SIA as the chair of the International Relations Committee. SIA’s purpose of protecting and advancing its members’ interests is well established in North America, and the prospect of extending SIA’s message, content and expertise to international markets, are both timely and necessary,” said de Souza. “Our committee will focus on developing and evolving SIA’s expansion plan to maximize the promotion of international cooperation between SIA and Latin American security companies and industry trade associations. The sessions at Expo de Seguridad and the launch of the RISE community will be the start of these efforts. It will be my privilege to collaborate with the committee!”
The newly reconstituted committee’s key efforts will include developing content for Expo Seguridad Mexico conference programs, presenting webinar series and white papers, hosting committee and SIA networking programs, serving as an influential voice to the media and independent research firms about given markets, managing translation of key SIA publications such as SIA Technology Insights, engaging security end users in committee programs, mentoring next-generation security leaders, conducting outreach to colleges and universities, and providing model program templates to SIA members operating in aligned markets.
As part of the partnership between SIA and Expo Seguridad Mexico, SIA members will be highlighted in the show’s exhibitor directory and access benefits like discounted exhibitor pricing, two complimentary conference passes per member company and more.
