NSCA appoints first-ever Director of Industry Outreach and Media Channels
CEDAR RAPIDS, IA, Jan. 8, 2020 — NSCA, the leading not-for-profit association representing the commercial low-voltage electronic systems industry, is excited to announce that Tom LeBlanc has joined its team as the director of industry outreach and media channels. This new position will support NSCA as it shares member success stories, connects NSCA and its members with appropriate media outlets, and fosters relationship building between the organization and the industry.
LeBlanc is well-known in the world of systems integration – most recently serving as the editorial director at Emerald Expositions (formerly EH Media), where he managed and wrote for recognized publications like Commercial Integrator, MyTechDecisions, and CE Pro. Prior to being named editorial director, he also held positions such as managing editor, senior writer, and editor-in-chief within the organization.
“I’m extremely excited to join the NSCA team,” says LeBlanc. “During my time as editorial director of Commercial Integrator, I was focused on identifying topics and solutions that benefit the integration industry. My media colleagues can relate to the challenge of weeding through sometimes self-promotional and self-serving content pitches. I never had that problem when considering content from NSCA. The organization is authentic in its goal to help member companies improve business. I have an opportunity to amplify those messages for the integration community – and I feel great about that.”
NSCA welcomes LeBlanc to his new role, where he’ll:
- Lead NSCA content creation initiatives to educate the low-voltage community about industry advocacy and outreach programs so more companies can benefit
- Serve as NSCA’s primary contact for media partners, helping to coordinate content needs
- Oversee NSCA’s quarterly Building Connections publication
- Develop and present content at the Business & Leadership Conference and Pivot to Profit event
- Communicate key issues surrounding legislation and NSCA position statements
“The professional industry expertise Tom has will benefit our members – and our organization – tremendously as he supports us on this mission,” says NSCA Executive Director Chuck Wilson. “With 17 years of experience writing about the issues that matter most to integrators and manufacturers, he already understands and appreciates the value that NSCA strives to deliver to its members. We’re very proud of the NSCA team and the resources we offer. With Tom, we’re adding a team member who has a demonstrated ability to strategize and execute impactful content.”
