The Convergint Cares Foundation – dedicated to furthering the company’s social responsibility efforts and support not-for-profit entities in underserved communities – has donated state-of-the-art security systems to the Medal of Honor Museum in Arlington, Texas, as well as to the National Park Service for the National Mall in Washington, D.C. These extensive projects deliver innovative technology to secure critical landmarks that honor United States veterans and heroes.

The Medal of Honor Museum – founded and funded by the National Medal of Honor Museum Foundation – is being established to honor U.S. Armed Forces Medal of Honor recipients, commemorating the bravery and courage of these soldiers and showcasing their valor and inspiration. It is expected to open in March 2025.

“The National Medal of Honor Museum will be a place of reflection where the lives of these soldiers will be commemorated,” said National Medal of Honor CEO, Chris Cassidy. “Convergint’s generous commitment to this effort makes it possible for us to provide an unparalleled experience to all who enter our space.”

Convergint – joined by industry partners including Motorola, ASSA ABLOY, HID, Anixter/Wesco, Windy City Wire, Commercial Lock Services, and Winsted – will donate a fully-integrated electronic security system, valued at more than $1.5 million, to the museum.

The system includes card readers, cameras, electrified door hardware, radios and more. The project reflects the deep passion that both Convergint and its partners have for honoring veterans, and will greatly enhance not only security, but experience and comfort for museum visitors.

In addition to its impactful work with the Medal of Honor Museum, Convergint – working with industry partners including Genetec, Winsted, Tripp Lite, Dell and BCD Video – has designed and donated a fully-integrated security system, valued at more than $3.3 million, to the National Park Service to boost visitor safety and situational awareness for the National Mall.

More than 35 million annually visit the National Mall in Washington D.C., which contains some of the most treasured monuments in the U.S., including the iconic Washington Monument and Lincoln Memorial. This system will greatly enhance security coverage across the area and its surrounding monuments and memorials, and boost response times by leveraging real-time information and communication technologies.

The first phase of the project, completed in 2021, involved enhancing the National Mall’s central monitoring center, intercom stations, public address capabilities, and upgrading from analog to IP cameras. Phase two will further expand situational awareness capabilities across monuments with more IP cameras.
