The past two years has seen Alpharetta, Ga.-based fire and security integrator Pye-Barker Fire & Safety grow at an astounding rate, and the company has kicked off 2022 with another flurry of acquisitions.
On Feb. 17, the company announced its acquisition of Fresno-Calif.-based Matson Alarm to strengthens Pye-Barker’s presence in the Central California market. Founded by brothers Larry and Mike Matson in 1974, the company boasts more than 20,000 monitored accounts and employs 90-plus. Matson Alarm’s leadership team and team of well-trained security professionals will continue to service new and existing customers.
In January, Pye-Barker made four acquisitions: Odyssey Fire Protection of Wilmington, N.C.; Northwest Fire Suppression of Beaverton, Ore.; Strickland Fire Protection of Forestville, Md.; and Frazier Fire of Oklahoma City.
In June 2021, Pye-Barker CEO Bart Proctor announced its 81st location with the acquisition of Total Life Safety Corp., of Jensen Beach, Fla. Since then, it has acquired 11 more companies to expand past 120 locations, along with 3100-plus team members.
