ISC West, Las Vegas – March 11, 2019 – Omnitron Systems (www.omnitron-systems.com), a leading provider of fiber, and Power over Ethernet network connectivity products, today introduced its new OmniConverter® PoE Extenders. OmniConverter Extenders enable the delivery of Ethernet data and Power over Ethernet (PoE) over standard twisted pair cabling beyond the standard 100 meter limit. Utilizing its data regeneration and power level boosting capabilities the OmniConverter PoE Extender can be daisy-chained and deliver 10/100/1000 data and power at up to 400 meters distances to multiple PoE powered devices such as cameras, Wi-Fi Access Points or Small Cells.
“When the cost of installing power to a remote device becomes impractical, or when replacing copper with new fiber becomes prohibitive”, said Sankar Ramachandran, Omnitron’s Product Marketing Director,” that is when the Extender provides a cost-effective way to deliver data and power to remote PoE devices.”
The OmniConverter PoE Extender requires no external AC power and it is powered from a PoE and data source. It compensates for loses in the copper cabling by boosting the voltage level to full PoE and retransmitting it via one or two ports enabling different user configurations. It supports the IEEE 802.3af PoE (15W), IEEE 802.3at PoE+ (30W), and High-Power PoE (60W) power standards.
OmniConverter PoE Extenders can be wall or DIN-rail mounted. They are USA made, carry lifetime warranty, and are supported by free 24/7 technical support.
