Intelligent power management company Eaton today announced the North American launch of its Eaton Tripp Lite series cloud-connected uninterruptible power supply (UPS). Providing simple, cost-effective battery backup and surge protection, the new UPS is a compact, low-maintenance solution equipped with cloud-enabled remote monitoring to simplify power management for applications such as retail point-of-sale (POS) systems, casino gaming machines, banking ATMs and many more.
The Eaton cloud-connected UPS leverages integrated cloud-based monitoring – available at no cost for up to 10 years – to enable customers to manage, control and monitor either a single UPS or an entire fleet. With Eaton’s Brightlayer remote monitoring dashboard, users can monitor UPS status and battery levels in real time via mobile app or web browser, saving them the time, hassle and expense of frequent on-site visits.
Key additional features of the Eaton Tripp Lite series cloud-connected UPS include:
Point-and-click commissioning: A QR code on the UPS allows for easy installation of the mobile monitoring app on a mobile device or desktop computer. The UPS comes equipped with a near field communication (NFC) area, enabling network settings to be transferred to the UPS from an app-enabled mobile device. A USB-C port can connect to a computer running an SSH server, delivering command line interface (CLI) commands.
Easy status monitoring: Monitor the UPSs status locally or remotely. Locally, an alarm and red LED indicate a low battery or fault condition while a green LED indicates power and battery mode status. Remotely, a user-friendly dashboard can be viewed via a mobile device or desktop application, allowing issues to be resolved before resulting in downtime.
Compact housing with versatile mounting options: Input, outputs, communication ports, power button and LEDs are all on the same side of the UPS for easy access and mounting. A small footprint facilities desktop or floor placement and various attachment points allow the UPS to be secured to a shelf or beam with user-supplied cable ties. Keyhole slots enable wall mounting and are spaced in a 100 x 100 mm VESA pattern for mounting to the back of a monitor.
Reliable, low-maintenance battery backup: Featuring a user-replaceable VRLA battery, the UPS is designed to extend service life. After an outage, the UPS will automatically restart regardless of the battery charge level, reducing the need for site visits. The low battery or fault condition audible alarm remains silent in backup mode, sounding only when imperative.
