FORT WORTH, Tex. – (April 24, 2014) – Sonitrol Corporation (Sonitrol), the leading provider — and inventor — of verified electronic security for homes, schools and businesses, held its Annual Sonitrol National Dealers Association (SNDA) Convention and Awards Banquet in Fort Worth, Tex. in late March. Over 400 Sonitrol personnel from throughout North America attended the 2014 SNDA meetings.
During the four-day conference, Sonitrol franchise owners and personnel appointed new SNDA officers, honored employees throughout the international Sonitrol network for their achievements in the past year across various fields – including sales, marketing, administration, and technical support. Keynote discussions focused on the bright future of the company and the electronic security industry as a whole – with particular emphasis on the increasing demand for verified alarms across the United States and Canada.
Among the newly appointed officers for 2014, Jeremy Bates, General Manager, Sonitrol of Lexington, was elected the new SNDA President.
“It’s an honor to have been chosen by the SNDA as their new President,” said Bates. “On behalf of the entire Sonitrol family, I’d like to thank outgoing President Chuck Harrelson (Sonitrol of the Triangle) for the exceptional job he’s done over the past year.
“As we look back and celebrate Sonitrol’s first 50 years and all that we’ve built, I can’t help but to eagerly look ahead to the future of our company. As verification plays an increasingly larger role in the electronic security landscape, Sonitrol will continue to redefine excellence within our industry.”
Sonitrol, founded in Anderson, Ind. in 1964, is acknowledged as the originator of verified electronic security, after founder Robert Baxter and Anderson Police Chief Al Cronk adapted the acoustic devices from Baxter’s pest extermination company to detect to human intruders.
This year, as the company celebrates 50 years dedicated to verified security solutions, Sonitrol personnel took time during the conference to reflect on the company’s rich history and record of success, which includes assisting police officers throughout North America in more apprehensions of intruders than any other security company. Sonitrol has assisted in over 170,000 since 1977, when the company began recording apprehension statistics.
“As much as this year’s agenda at the convention was business, as usual, it was a little bit different, a little more special,” said Bill McNabney, Founder of Sonitrol University. McNabney was also honored as Sonitrol’s first ever, and longest-tenured employee. He went on to say, “We were all able to recognize our history, our achievements and our company as a whole and we’ve come a long way over the last 50 years as a network, and as a team. And I’m extremely proud to see the direction in which we’re heading for the next 50.”
