ESA releases employee recruiting and retention toolkit
Irving, Texas (August 6, 2015) - Recruiting talent is a serious challenge for security companies and will continue to be a challenge for the foreseeable future as our country struggles with a shortage of skilled workers. The Electronic Security Association’s (ESA) newest member benefit delivers the tools that security dealers need to succeed in recruiting and retaining quality employees in an increasingly competitive environment.
ESA is proud to unveil its new dealer toolkit for ESA members as part of an overall workforce development initiative the association has undertaken. The toolkit is chalk full of easy to implement resources for members that take the hard work out of developing employee retention and recruitment programs.
Within the toolkit ESA members will find advice on where to look for talented new candidates, compensation benchmarking data, an exciting industry recruitment video that can be used on their website and at job fairs etc., as well as useful information pertaining to company offered benefits and bonus programs.
“ESA continues to raise the bar and provide valuable resources for our member companies,” said ESA Executive Director & CEO Merlin Guilbeau. “Our Industry Advisory Group (IAG) requested that the association address the workforce challenges that our members are facing and I’m very proud of the product we have developed and will continue to build upon moving forward. I strongly encourage every ESA member company to visit the toolkit and utilize the resources and how to’s that have been developed. You will not be disappointed!”
The site also features downloadable co-branded material for companies to attract talent. Dealers are able to download a slate of print ads and flyers and drop in their individual company logo and contact info to aid in recruitment. The site also has advice on best retention practices to help companies stay competitive and attractive while encouraging existing employees to remain loyal as opposed to seeking other opportunities. In addition, dealers will find starter job descriptions that they are able to utilize in customizing job descriptions for their businesses.
Also available are a number of How-To articles covering a wide array of topics on recruitment, including guides on how to post to job boards, finding and utilizing job fairs, setting up limited partnerships, establishing employee referral programs and leveraging social media to capture the attention of potential employees.
ESA Members are able to access the toolkit by logging in to www.ESAweb.org/toolkit. If you are not an ESA member but would like to learn more about joining please contact the ESA Member Service Center at (972) 807-6801 for more information.
